Capital Festival 2009 |

The Old Capital Festival in Levuka
will be held in October 2009
The program is being worked out and will be announced in due
time.
This was the 2008 program:
- Saturday, 4th will commence
with a Parade through town to Nasau Park, followed by the opening
ceremony. After this, the various sports will commence
- Sunday 5th will consist of
an Interdenominational Church Service, incorporating a choir
competition
- Monday 6th will continue
with sports, and there will also be the handicraft and
flower-arranging competition
- Tuesday 7th will continue
with sports, as well as a Baby Show conducted by the Hospital
- Wednesday 8th will be all
sports
- Thursday 9th will be the
"Walk for Life" for the Levuka Hospital, a display by the National
Fire Authority and a Symposium for all the youth, including
speakers from Government ministries in the areas of health,
agriculture, tourism opportunities etc.
- Friday 10th will be the
Fiji day celebrations, including a meke and traditional
dance competition
- Saturday 11th will see the
finals of all sports, finishing off with a free concert and the
closing ceremony.
